| The Spanish translation, validation and adaptation of the Tennessee Self-Concept Scale (RSCS: Roid & Fitts, 1988/1991/1994), carried out by Rosado (EACT-R: 1992), was used to study the factor structure of this instrument with two populations. The comparative analysis of the adjusted samples was performed with adolescents students (n=264) and adult employees (n=544). The EACT-R defined one factor in the Personal Self (both samples), in the Family Self and Self-Criticism (adults) and, in the Physical Self (adolescents). The structural validity of the EACT-R was not confirmed by the results obtained in this study. These findings are consistent with previous studies of the TSCS that have not validated its construct nor its multidimensional design. |

| En este trabajo utilizamos la traducción al español, adaptación y validación del Tennessee Self-Concept Scale (TSCS: Roid & Fitts, 1988/1991/1994), efectuada por Rosado (EACT-R: 1992), para examinar la estructura factorial de este instrumento con dos poblaciones. Realizamos el análisis comparativo de las muestras ajustadas con estudiantes adolescentes (n=264) y personas empleadas adultas (n=544). No definimos la EACT-R unifactorialmente más que en el Yo Personal (ambas muestras), en el Yo Familiar y Autocrítica (personas adultas) y en el Yo Físico (adolescentes). La validez estructural de la EACT-R no se confirmó a base de los resultados obtenidos. Estos hallazgos son consistentes con estudios previos del TSCS en los que no se validó el constructo ni el diseño multidimensional de este instrumento. |
